Whitney Thornberry
Board Member
Whitney Thornberry has lived and worked in Williamsburg for 10 years, after moving from Florida to the Historic Triangle to ‘live in history on purpose.’ Whitney’s professional career has given her the opportunity to live and work in many places throughout the United States, working with special events, teachers, parents, and in the entertainment and hospitality industries along the way, including Macy’s, The Lost Colony, and Walt Disney World, to name a few. With a passion for education paired with engagement and entertainment, and following several years interpreting at both the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation and the front lines of Colonial Williamsburg, she now manages Colonial Williamsburg’s educational conferences & donor travel program, bringing together signature events for the Foundation or ‘nerd camp’ as some conference attendees affectionately dub the intensive programs. Of all of the beautiful things about Williamsburg, her favorite is sharing it with her young son, Liam, as they frequent everything our wonderful town has to offer. Whitney loves to share the magic of downtown Williamsburg with everyone and is thrilled and honored to be joining the Board of Williamsburg Downtown with the hope to make it even more magical for our local community and families.
